Knauf Santos Law, PLLC is a team-oriented and fast paced Family Law practice. We pursue excellence in all that we do.

We are looking for an experienced family law paralegal who is a collegial self-starter with a passion for helping families through one of the toughest times of their lives.

This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience as a paralegal in Family Law, in King and/or Snohomish Counties. The applicant is required to know how to handle all aspects of a family law matter from start to finish, including knowledge of the state and local court rules.

You will actively handle all aspects of a client’s case, including coordinating intake of potential new client (“PNC”) consults, assisting with new client onboarding, preparing client folders, communicating with various parties, drafting pleadings, preparing financial declarations, conducting discovery, supporting attorneys in all aspects of a case, including, but not limited to assisting in the preparation for hearings, mediations, and trials. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a case from intake to completion.

Overall, this position is intended to be a challenging experience for someone looking to be a highly effective family law paralegal.

Your qualifications

  • Have a strong understanding and knowledge of Washington State court rules and procedures related to motion practice in King, and Snohomish counties.
  • Strong research skills; experience with Family Soft/Support Calc, Adobe Acrobat and with MS Office applications including Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A solid work ethic, impeccable attendance and punctuality, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude, the ability to set priorities and work under pressure, and the ability to establish a good rapport with firm personnel and clients.
  • Has the ability to muti-task and handle cases with urgency.

Candidates must successfully pass a background check and aptitude and fit testing.

Daily work expectations include

  • Establishing positive and collaborative working relationships with clients, colleagues, and the courts.
  • Clearly and empathetically communicating legal options to clients.
  • Researching case law, drafting correspondence and drafting and filing pleadings.
  • Accurately calendar all hearings, filing deadlines and other key dates.
  • Actively continue developing skills and taking on more challenging legal issues.
  • Using FamilySoft, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc), Adobe Acrobat and other technology to
    efficiently generate work product and records.
  • Ability to multitask on a variety of projects with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently & within a team environment.
  • Take ownership of assignments and executes them timely.
